#100Miles and a new training plan
100 miles in a month. For many of you, this may seem like a no-brainer. I would love to be in that group of cool kids, but as it stands, I have yet to hit 100 miles in a month. That is, until this month. I am participating in Angie Maske-Berka's (@angiemaskeberka) 100 mile November challenge. Sure, there's cool prizes and stuff. More importantly, there's accountability.
It's crazy how a spreadsheet shared between a bunch of like-minded individuals can motivate you to get up and get going. And how's it going, you ask? Well, 16 days into the month and I'm at 53 miles. Not too shabby, if I do say so myself.
Tomorrow is also the start of my training for the Tallahassee Half Marathon in February. I'm hoping to make some improvements in both nutrition and strength training over the course of this training plan, and if I find anything worth passing along, I'll do so.
Now, tomorrow calls for stretching and strengthening (no running). Since I'm a good boy, I will be sure to follow the rules. What am I talking about? It's group run night, and I've got a mileage goal to hit! Plus, I've got jury duty (selection) tomorrow, so I will need to get up and move after sitting and reading the newest Runner's World and listening to Serial episodes all day.
I hope to be posting here with a little better regularity than before. Now that I'm done with grad school (WA-HOO!), I will have a little more time to write up some posts. Until then!
