10K Training: Week 2

This was the second week of my 10K training plan, and as usual, we like to keep our schedule full. The end of summer brings our annual migration to Iowa, so I missed a couple of runs due to the 20-hour drive and following
recovery
sleep.
I should have worn my Garmin while I chased this guy around the rest area where we changed him into his pajamas. At least one of us was excited about the "sleepover in the car."
The long trip was well worth it. We have had a great time catching up with family, and I have had fun catching up with some of the places I grew up running. Oh, and then there's the weather. We traded the heat and humidity of Florida for fall-like temps in Iowa. There was no reason (once I woke up after that drive) not to get out and run.
This is how we do summer sunsets in my hometown. Only it's usually in the 90s and humid instead of the low 70s and all-around AMAZING.
Speaking of hot and humid, I missed the Monday run at Capital City Runners this week, but the rest of the crew still went out (in TRIPLE DIGITS)!
These guys are beasts!
So here's the training recap for Week 2:
Scheduled:
Tuesday: 3 miles
Thursday: 4 miles
Saturday: 2 miles
Sunday: 5 miles
Total: 14 miles
Completed:
Tuesday: 3 miles
Sunday: 2.25 miles
Monday: 5 miles
Total: 10.25 miles
So, I came up a few miles under what was scheduled, but considering the 1200 miles of driving that were not in the schedule, I'll take it.
